Every year, Swiss watchmaker Blancpain shows its heart in February for Valentine’s Day with the Saint Valentin timepiece.
An automatic watch with 100 hours of power reserve, the 2013 model is distinguished by its heart motifs, which decorate the dial, the case middle and the movement rotor (calibre 1150). The white mother-of-pearl dial is livened up by five red lacquered hearts while the case also features five similar hearts, this time executed in ceramic.
This part is particularly interesting because the ceramic has to be applied in liquid form before it is fired to solidify it. The rotor features four red hearts, in contrast to the five on the dial and case. The 34mm stainless steel watch also features diamond hour markers and a bezel set with two rows of full-cut diamonds.
