Pangaea, the international-acclaimed ultra-lounge founded by none other than the American nightclub extraordinaire, Michael Ault, will be part of the anomalous Crystal Pavilion at the Marina Bay Sands’ apart from Avalon. It distinguishes itself from Avalon by catering to an entirely different target audience. Pangaea Singapore is the brand’s first venture in Asia. It will make its public début in lieu of the F1 Weekend on Thursday, September 22nd.
Helmed by Hamptons Magazine as “one of the top night clubs in the world,” Pangaea has been said to be as successful as its predecessor, Studio 54. Being preachers of quality service, one can expect nothing but the best service right from the entrance of the ultra-lounge. Door hosts, whom have been specially chosen based on their EQ and personalities, will greet and show you the way through a tastefully lit-up tunnel, up the stairs and right to the front door of the humble abode.
Marina Mathews, managing director of Chrysler Communications (which handles Pangaea’s Public Relations efforts), described the experience “as if James Bond were on safari and decided to go to a nightclub.”
A strong emphasis has been put on its service and the overall concept of Pangaea. It is not a discotheque, but an ultra-lounge.. more like a social club. There is no dancefloor, and the entire compound is specially designed and furnished with comfortable sofas and luxe tables fashioned from solid, exotic materials. The main room is made from crocodile skin with granite dance platform, so as to make up for the lack of a dancefloor, you can get jiggy virtually anywhere – on the sofas, on the sturdy platforms – it really depends on how loco you want to go.
Apart from that, when you’re ordering your choice of sin at the bar, take a look at the genuine zebra skin finish on the bar top before you return to your friends on the ostrich skin banquette and appreciate the 1,000 year old Saur Tree VIP tables. And if you’re going for a smoke, feel the crocodile skin walls as you take each puff from your cancer stick.
Pangaea Singapore will open its doors to the public at its Grand Opening on Thursday, September 22nd. VIP tables range from SG$1,000 to SG$15,000 and must be booked in advanced.
