The Municipal Government of Tianjin, China has announced it will build 3,000 permanent berths to attract and accommodate the upsurge in the region’s yachting industry.
Bordering Hebei province and Beijing, the coastal town in the north east of China is connected to the Gulf of Bohai and the Yellow Sea. Construction of the new berths will be completed by the end of 2011.
Furthermore, the local government has said it will develop a complete supply chain which incorporates yacht building, retail display and maintenance services as it strives to become the largest yachting base in northern China.
The town says within the next few years there will be sufficient demand for 10,000 berths.
