After an exhaustive two years search of Mainland China, the Wynn Macau has found the right chefs to open its most ambitious restaurant to date – The Golden Flower. It also follows a multi-million dollar renovation.

The Golden Flower celebrates the life of the historic Cantonese Qing dynasty official Tan Zongjun by offering authentic flavors of China’s interior – Tan, Lu (Shandong) and Sichuan.

Tan Zongjun inspired several generations of chefs to maintain the traditions of Tan Cuisine, including Golden Flower’s very own Chinese Executive chef Liu Guo Zhu, who worked for more than a decade in the same kitchen as a chef from the original Tan household.

In a career that has spanned four decades, Liu has worked at the Beijing Hotel and was head chef at the Beijing Grand Hotel where he served the likes of Her Royal Highness the Queen of England, US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and Chinese leader Deng Xiao Ping).

He has also mentored hundreds of chefs, several of whom (above) have since blossomed and been brought into cook at the Golden Flower.

The restaurant also has two private dining rooms (above) which can seat up to ten people each.
