This Month rising up the music charts in Singapore, Taiwan, & the rest of Asia we interview the multi-talented and oh-so-lovely, Ming Bridges who dazzles and captivates us with her charming vocals.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know about you

When I was younger I aspired to be a wakeboarder/monoski champion. I love board sports!I wish I was a character in a Japanese video game like Dead or Alive or Final Fantasy. I’m obsessed with High Summoner Yuna! & I’m the worst person to go to the cinema with. I cry and laugh really loudly.

How did you first know you wanted to be a singer?

I’ve always loved music and I’ve always loved to sing. There’s something about the way a piece of music can just overwhelm you with different emotions, make you laugh or cry – it’s so spectacular. I never in a million years thought I’d be able to be a singer – it was always a ‘little girls’ dream’ of mine until I ended up winning Teenage Icon at 14. I find singing and song writing a way to express my emotions and I’m just so happy I’m able to share my music with so many people.

Tell us about your album..your favorite songs and the inspiration behind them.

My album ‘Ming Day’ is a compilation of songs I’ve written from when I was 14 until 19 so very much tells a story of a girl growing up and the different challenges and emotions she faces. One of my favourite songs in the album is ‘Under The Stars’. When you watch a Disney movie, there’s always that one moment when the two characters are falling for each other but don’t grab the opportunity to say how they really feel – and then it all gets lost and you think, had they taken that moment, that chance, and just ran away together, things could have been so perfect. This song talks about that moment. It always makes me think of Peter Pan and Wendy in particular. I hope it reminds people to make the most of every moment!

What i love most…….

my family

I hope for…….

more opportunities to share my music with the world!

Nothing inspires me like…….

watching others go out and achieve their dreams. I think there’s such a huge difference between talkers and do-ers. When I see people turn dreams into reality, it inspires me to go after my dreams too.

I see myself in 3 years…….

Buried in projects. I love doing different things and keeping myself busy. Hopefully my music will take me to places beyond my expectations. The best thing about being in this industry is that you never know what’s going to happen next. It’s hard work but keeps it very exciting!

My vices are……..

Online shopping, speed eating, midnight feasting and INSTAGRAM (all those food photos!).

What turns me on the most…..

Someone who can make me laugh. Nothing is sexier than a man with a witty personality.

My favorite…

Part of the day is the morning. Waking up early and having the whole day in front of me makes me feel like I have all the time in the world to do whatever I want. Watching the sun rise reminds me how beautiful things are and how lucky we are. It’s cheesy but it makes me feel really grateful and sets the mood for the day!

When I was….

Younger I constantly tried to dress like a punk rocker (and failed miserably).

My top 5 things on my bucket list are……

Have a world tourShower in a waterfallMilk a cowStart My Own CharityCreate a clothing line

What i could do all day and all night long….

Write songs, listen to music, play board games, eat.

Fashion is……

Personal. It’s another means to express who we are and differentiate ourselves. One day I can be completely casual in a big sweater and shorts and another I could be an Indian Princess. It can be as creative, experimental or as relaxed as you want it to be. I love it.
