Versace trades in the skimpy silhouettes from previous collections for something more boxier this season taking inspiration from the roaring 60’s.
The Medusa and the signature Greek key both figured prominently, while polka dots and flags added an element of surprise. Multicolor python skin in glossy patchwork also made a stunning appearance, featured on sweet shift dresses.
What I loved most was the way in which Donatella manipulated her series of chic geometrics, punchy polka dots, edgy zipper detailing and herringbone prints into this resort collection.
The result; a sharp mix of bright, beautiful and athletic inspired, cocktail-ready numbers that although appeared tame against it’s previous seasons offerings, lacked no less the signature aesthetics of Versace’s shimmer and sex appeal.
The big showstopper was a column gown that bared loads of leg with a thigh-high slit, courtesy of a gold zipper. Knee-high, zip-front cutout boots provided the perfect complements.
