Legendary Parisian jeweler Cartier has been bringing together couples for more than 160 years, including some pretty impressive names: Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor… In the 21st century, Cartier has come up with a new diamond engagement ring we are certain you will find, well, engaging: the Cartier Destinée. In a stroke of genius, Cartier combines the popular solitaire diamond setting – complete with traditional prongs – with a micro-pavé bezel and a (partial) eternity band.
This means the central stone (0.5 to 2.99 carats) gains a halo of smaller brilliant-cut diamonds that add to the brilliance of its own shine. In both bezel and band, Cartier has elected to use individually hand-finished cavities for the diamonds, giving the entire ring a seamless feel. Typically, the precious metal for the band is platinum but Cartier also offers a special service called Set for You by Cartier, which allows customers to choose a variety of different styles.
The Cartier Destinée recently debuted in Asia with a new short film starring Michelle Chen.
