The Glenlivet hosted a sumptuous whisky pairing feast to fete the first anniversary of The Glenlivet Guardian Club – Hong Kong edition at AMMO, Hong Kong on March 27. Presiding over the event was Brand Ambassador of The Glenlivet, Darren Hosie, who saluted the three newly minted Guardian Club Ambasssadors with a traditional Scottish cheer.

For the uninitiated, the Glenlivet Guardian Club was first launched in 2006 and has since signed up more than 130,000 members in over 98 countries. The club has three rungs: the Guardian, the Guardian Ambassador and the Guardian Fellow. While anyone can signed up to be a Guardian on the company’s website, members need to be promoted in order to become an Ambassador or Fellow.

The Hong Kong whisky fan club – while small, with 500 members – is close-knitted. “Those who come often pretty much know each other by now. We try to go beyond pairing whisky with traditional French or Italian cuisine. Last year, we did two pairings with cheese and chocolate, and the reception was largely positive,” Jonathan Choi, Assistant Brand Manager of Pernod Ricard Hong Kong said at the dinner.
