Friends, art buffs and media personalities gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Schoeni Art Gallery in November 2012. Leading the myriad of anniversary celebrations was Latitude/Altitude, a high-powered exhibition that sheds light on the many Chinese artists that the gallery has played a part in grooming in the last two decades.
Curated by Huang Du, the exhibition comprises works from both contemporary Chinese artists such as Zeng Fanzhi, Zhang Xiaogang and Yue Minjun and up-and-coming artistic talents such as Zhou Jinhua and Chen Fei. Hong Kong artists such as Mok Wai Hong, Kum Chi Keung and Hung Keung are also featured.
A media preview on November 26th at the gallery was followed by a star-studded VIP party the next evening at L16 Café and Bar.
The many faces to grace the two occasions included artists Chen Fei, Chen Li, Chen Yongliang, Chen Yu, Fung Lik Yan Kevin, Ho Siu Nam South, Hung Keung, Kum Chi Keung, Li Guijun, Ling Jian, Maleonn, Shen Hua, Mok Wai Hong, Wang Guofeng, Xia Xiaowan, Yang Yongliang, Yu Chen and Zhao Fang, Executive Director of M+ Museum Lars Nittve, founder of Asia Art Archive Claire Hsu, founder of the Burger Collection Monique Burger and her husband Max, Managing Director of architectural firm CL3 William Lim, founder of Vermillion Art Jehan Chu, celebrity models Rosemary Vandenbroucke and Ankie Beilke and PR maestros Reyna Harilela and Shirley Hiranand.
For those who missed the opening – fret not – the exhibition will run until February 3 at the gallery’s three locations.
