Duke of Argyll presenting the premier tribute to Mr Chung King Fai
Originally created by the Chivas Brothers to honor the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953, a Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute tribute is hard to come by and will only be presented to those who are highly regarded in their fields. With each of the whiskeys painstakingly hand-selected and stored for decades in the Royal Salute vault, Royal Salute 62 Gun Salute remains the only permanent blend to include whiskies aged for a minimum of 40 years.
Chung King Fai became the first in Hong Kong to receive the 62 Gun Salute tribute for his life-long contribution to the contemporary performing arts scene in the city. Chung King Fai, 13th Duke of Argyll and Darren Hosie, Royal Salute brand ambassador unveiled and presented the tribute to Chung at the British Consulate on Tuesday.
Positioning itself as the no.1 luxury whiskey brand in world, Royal Salute has won several prestigious awards including the 2009 IWSC Gold Best in Class for Royal Salute 100 Cask. It was also named Best Luxury Spirits Brand in the Hurun Report’s ‘Best of the Best 2009’ Survey. Because of its rarity, only 10 bottles of the sophisticated blend will be released in Hong Kong.
It will be available in selective outlets from April 8 at the suggested retail price of $21,500.
