Marina Bay Sands welcomes Jiggs and Zorawar Kalra, the intrepid father-and-son team behind India’s critically acclaimed, multi-award-winning Punjab Grill by Jiggs Kalra. The brand’s first international foray, situated at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, saw the crème de la crème of Singapore’s social and culinary scene grace the occasion for a scrumptious evening showcase of India’s richly diverse Northwest Frontier cuisine.
“Singapore was an obvious choice for us, with its diversity of culture, languages and the arts. The people would be able to appreciate the cuisine we offer,” says Jiggs, who played the perfect host along with his family of chefs. “Punjabi cuisine, like Singapore, is also a melting pot of cultures and traditions.”
Through the evening, over 120 guests the likes of Peter Knipp, Celeste Basapa and Nana Au-Chua sampled the restaurant’s signature dishes such as Kurkuri, which are crispy rolls served with aam papad chutney, tender lamb tikka, seared tandoori prawns and many other delicious, exotic morsels. Live action of chefs working the copper tandoors at the show kitchen was also part of the night’s entertainment.
