Creating possibility out of impossibility, and surrealism out of realism, with a uniform inspired theme, Mary Katrantzou showcased a quirky dance of teddy bears, watches, and bird prints, sewn onto floor length dresses, suits and minis for her Fall/Winter 2014 Collection at London Fashion Week.
Texture was the main component of the new season with lots of intricate embroidery, symbol-shaped brocades, jacquard, front-open long tunics and chain mail.
The front of one chain-mail cocktail dress was covered in silver and gold metallic strips fashioned into hearts, triangles, and circles, while another range of looks brought forth shiny reptilian textures cut from fabrics that looked like glittery animal skins which Mary cleverly meshed together with pleated silks to create dresses, skirts and entire suits.
