Mandarin Oriental has just announced the opening of its first venture in China – the Mandarin Oriental, Sanya, located on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island.
The hotel brands itself as a “tropical paradise”, with 297 luxury-fitted rooms lying along 12 hectares of beachfront on Coral Bay. Of the 297 rooms, the 15,200 sq m private villas and 19 oversized suites are the most exclusive, featuring private infinity edge pools and gardens, and direct access to the pearly white beaches.
The resort’s architectural design channels contemporary northern Chinese styles, with its interiors enhanced with indigenous Hainanese textiles for an exotic touch.
It is well-stocked with holiday essentials, with premier dining establishments dotting the venue, not forgetting its in-house spa, a signature Mandarin Oriental fixture, characterized by its focus on well-being and healing via Asian infused treatments like Tradition Chinese Medicine.
Entrance to the 3,200 sq meter spa is via an elevated, seemingly ‘floating’ platform, setting the stage for a unique experience in any one of the 18 treatment rooms.
Mandarin Oriental Sanya’s close proximity to the sea also spells an abundance of sea sports opportunities with the resorts’ organized water activities, ensuring an all-rounded vacation experience with an array of activities to choose from.
