Li Bing Bing with a lovely pebbled blush Soho tasseled shoulder bag
Third time’s the charm for comely Chinese actress Li Bing Bing, who once again fronts Gucci‘s well, charming trove of classic timepieces and accessories. This marks the third instalment in the Italian house’s special campaign commemorating its (horse) bits and pieces, as it were – the lush bags, eyewear, jewelry and timepieces that make the brand so covetable to so many.
This time, Li Bing Bing was lensed by London-based photog and Nick Knight protégé Sølve Sundsbø – fashion observers will surely recognize the avowed avant-gardist for his work in Italian Vogue and i-D – and styled by Frida Giannini herself, in a series of cleverly subversive portraits that toe the line between sensuality and glassy-eyed coldness. The minimal props mean the gorgeous face of Li Bing Bing takes centerstage – together with the Gucci accessories she is modeling, of course.
Bags are prominently featured, with three styles highlighted here: the Jackie, re-imagined for Cruise 2013 in a summer garden party-ready Flora print; the Soho chain shoulder bag, with its unmissable interlocking GG insignia embossed on the side; and the Gucci Nice, offered this year in sustainably sourced monogram canvas and trimmed in micro-printed Guccissima calf.

Guccissima leather oversized shades for a megawatt star, worn with a Horsebit cocktail ring
Keep an eye out for the Horsebit cocktail ring that is shown in most of the shots. With a warm cognac quartz centerpiece set in 18kt yellow gold, the clasps are also molded to look like Gucci’s Horsebit motif: request for a closer look at this evening stunner the next time you visit your favorite Gucci store.
Gucci Interlocking watch
As for fashion timepieces, the lastest to be introduced into Gucci’s expanding range is the generously sized 37mm Interlocking watch, offered in gleaming stainless steel with the initials of founder Guccio Gucci worked into the bezel itself.
Pandas, keep a distance: Bamboo watch and jewelry collection
Finally, there’s the beautifully organic Bamboo collection created in collaboration with the actress herself, whose professional and personal relationship with the brand came about in part because of Gucci’s increasing commitment to environmental causes. The pale chamapagne bamboo accents incorporated into the jewelry are every bit as lovely as animal-based ivory. Best of all, proceeds from this collection will go towards an ongoing reforestation initiative in China.
