We admit we’re total suckers for shoes—there’s nothing better than adding a new pair of gorgeous heels to that special spot in your closet. Kitten heels, practical flats, clunky sandals and even summertime flip-flops are welcome in our wardrobe; but with all those shoes things can start to look a little—redundant. If you catch yourself standing at Barneys wondering if you already have that Louboutin heel in a different color, then it might be time to shake up your style a bit. We love new brand Konstantina Tzovolou for their fun designs and bright colors, but mostly because it doesn’t look like every other thing in our closet.
Grecian designer Konstantina Tzovolou began her namesake label to give women a sense of edge and sexy appeal in their footwear that was fun and distinctly feminine. “I created this collection of luxury footwear for the trendsetter of any age that has a flair for style and a taste for luxury and finesse,” says Tzovolou. “Each style truly combines all elements of femininity, from sexy and playful to girly and chic.” Following her studies at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, she worked as a buyer and merchandiser before spending the last five years at internet startups around the bay area. Her first collection is being released for Fall 2014.
While the collection is designed in San Francisco, production occurs in Italy where local artisans handcraft each piece using local Italian materials. Suede, leather, patent leather and even PVC comes together to create eye-catching footwear that will easily get you noticed. All high heels, all well-structured, these pieces come in bright colors that will make muted shades on your outfit pop or stand out on their own. Wearing the bright blue Konina platform pumps with a little black dress? Yes, please.
For those with a more demure fashion palette, the collection does hold a couple black and nude pieces—all of which still have finishing touches that make them unique and memorable. The debut season of the brand may only have a few styles to choose from (and a plethora of colors), but we’re guessing it will only expand as the brand grows—especially with such a large fan base of international editors and bloggers clamoring for more.
Konstantina Tzovolou is available online and priced from $440-$810.
