Five Hong Kong hotels have been recognised with top honours (five stars) in the Forbes Travel Guide 2011.
In its lifetime spanning over 50 years the guide has become a prestigious gauge of quality and the Island Shangri-La (below) has been awarded five stars for the first time.

“With an increasing number of Forbes Five-Star Lodgings in Hong Kong, the city re-affirms its position as one of the international cities in which travelers can experience the best of the best in hospitality and the richest, most unique hotel and spa experiences anywhere.”
In addition to the Island Shangri-La, other five-star recipients for 2011 include the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong; Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong; The Landmark Mandarin Oriental; and The Peninsula Hong Kong (top).
The Wynn Macau and Altira Macau also retained their Five Star ratings for Macau.
