Dsquared2 name is on everyone’s lips, the designers chose to imprint their name and the name of the brand on plain white T-shirts, taking a hint to the oh-so-popular retro Chanel T-shirts. This gave the collection a touch of casualness with a dominatrix allure to the designs as the sexy leg emphasizing silhouettes needed a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ to balance the look and give it a sexy-casual allure, perfect for the modern-day diva.
All the designs had a high wearability level, although some of the maxi dresses did look like they were clinging a bit hard on the model’s perfect forms.
Among the stylish 90s inspired mini skirts and dresses displayed in either a monochrome or duo chromatic pattern, the collection also features some chic capris, stylish denims and some quilted leather dresses that looked fierce and packing loads of attitude. The collection was given the finishing touches that also underline the muse of the designers, through the use of retro caps and opulent chain accessories that made every ensemble stand out and claim the spotlight.
Although the color palette chosen by the designers for the Dsquared2 spring 2013 collection was more toned down, basing itself of mostly achromatic colors, vivacious, springy tones such as bright pink, soft pink and fierce red gave that dose of playfulness that was needed to take the seriousness out of the designs. Chic, stylish yet meant to the divas that love to stand out, the collection is definitely worth checking out, so take a peek at the lovely shapes and patterns and pick your style influences for the new season.
