Martell jointly celebrates its Tricentenary and Singapore’s 50th anniversary with bespoke gastronomy and mixology experiences created by Martell ambassadors Chef Justin Quek and mixologist Ethan Leslie Leong. As part of the Tricentenary celebrations, both ambassadors visited Cognac, France, journeying into Martell’s rich heritage, and the Palace of Versailles to discover French Art de Vivre through a private tour of the Palace. They were also invited to an immersive multisensorial dinner inspired by Jean Martell’s original journey to Cognac.

In Cognac, the ambassadors had several exchanges with Martell experts on gastronomy and mixology. Quek met with the Resident Chef at Chateau de Chanteloup, Chef Eric Danger, for a culinary exchange that explored the essence of French and Asian culinary traditions and techniques. Meanwhile, Leong gained deeper insight into the uniqueness of each Martell cognac from Martell’s Cellar Master Benoit Fil. In Paris, Leong explored the versatility of Martell cognacs through an exchange of mixology techniques with Thierry Hernandez, Head Barman of the Plaza Athenee and creator of signature Martell cocktails.

On their return to Singapore, Quek and Leong have translated their understanding of Martell’s heritage and the French Art de Vivre into bespoke gastronomy and mixology experiences to celebrate both Martell’s Tricentenary and Singapore’s Golden Jubilee.

Inspired by the different flavors he encountered in Cognac and at the multi-sensorial dinner at the Palace ofVersailles, Quek has created a six-course dinner menu that combines Asian influences and French techniques, bringing to life the gastronomic influences he discovered during the trip. Quek’s bespoke gastronomy experience will be available from October 22 to November 30 at Sky on 57.

To celebrate Martell’s rich heritage and innovative spirit, Leong created two cocktails – 1715 and 2015. 1715 is a refreshing cocktail that was inspired by Martell’s focus on fresh ingredients, a key tenet of its Pure Gourmet approach to gastronomy. The second cocktail, 2015, reflects Martell’s innovative spirit, showcasing how it has looked to the future while embracing its 300-year tradition. Leong’s bespoke cocktails 1715 and 2015 are available at Maison Ikkoku and the newly opened FORT by Maison Ikkoku respectively from now till June 2016.
