Bangkok’s hip and stylish boutique hotel chain LUXX is going upsize, with the creation of a sister property LUXX XL, which elevates its no-frills concept to offer travelers a more luxurious experience.

Space is the keyword here, and while the largest suites in LUXX are no more than 50 sqm, those at LUXX XL can reach up to 208 sqm, comparable to those in more upscale hotel chains like Shangri-La or InterContinental.

All 51 studios and suites have retained the original LUXX’s “fun bathroom” (read ‘naughty’) concept, whereby the bathrooms have sexy open partitions.

The no-frills concept is carried over to this XL version, but guests can expect premium custom teakwood furnishings and slate-stone finished bathrooms, with all the latest modern accouterments and free wireless Internet access.

A key highlight of LUXX XL is the 12-meter slate stone-finished infinite edge pool, around which a New York style glass bar and restaurant, and a garden have been built. These will soon be joined by a gym, a SOHO-style business center, and an executive lounge in 2010.
