In this latest Spring/Summer ‘16 collection by Delvaux, strikingly unexpected motifs bring to mind the work of Monet and Poliakoff. The result is a stunningly paradoxical mashup between the two famous artists, where a delicate spectrum of colors are juxtaposed against bold, daring, abstract lines.
Delvaux reinvents some of its signature classics this season, driven by innovation but grounded by its tradition of savoir-faire and excellent quality. Modern and casual takes its cue with the Brillant East/West, which elongates the classic Brillant in Sellier leather for an elegant update. The East/West Mini joins this season in an adorable mini interpretation of the classic.
The Brillant and the Tempête join the sporty trend with cotton canvas racing stripes, whereas the Givry enters a new level of glamor with a contemporary, wider band of Alligator leather.
The Nude, Végétal and Noir hues may be timeless, but new colors take the stage this season with vibrant Piment and cool Amande, and also the Lin for a freshly subtle touch. Color doesn’t stop on the outside though. The Brillant and the Simplissime Totes feature a pop of color like a pleasant surprise.
Precious skins need intricate work and extra attention, just like the Alligator, Lizard, Python and Galuchat skins. In the Horn Back Alligator, exceptional pieces include the Noir and Ivory, while Madame Smoking Galuchat is designed in an ultra-precision-cut.
Contrasts don’t stop at color, however. Patent and matte leathers are juxtaposed in a stunning contrast between surfaces, as in the Alligator Gel and Shadow, or between the Nubuck Cheyenne and Vernis leather. The Toile de Cuir, a signature of the Maison, makes an entrance this season, reinterpreted in Ivory on the Brillant and the Pin.
