Already famous in the Middle East, Alon Livne’s new project is to make a name for himself over in the states. We think he has done just that with this Winter collection. The all black collection is a staple that never gets old, and Livne gives it an air of edge.
Livne’s previous training at Alexander McQueen and Roberto Cavalli have has made him a master of all things “technique”; this season he has miraculously combined pattern-making and embroidery to create sculptural, 3D swirls that leap off garments’ stretch surfaces forming arced contours.
Details such as leather, 3D and crystal were in abundance, modernising the collection. The geometric shaping and cuts of bare skin were also very common. Livne provided an experience, and we applaud him for it.
