Next up of day two’s fashion shows at the five day fashion extravaganza of Audi Fashion Festival was Homegrown, international label, Raoul – spearheaded by the power couple Douglas and Odile Benjamin.
Largely inspired by the 60’s, with touches of Yves Saint Laurent‘s sharply tailored 1966 Le Smoking suit design, the collections showcased lovely shift dresses and A-Line skirts to the monochrome pieces drawing from Belgian art director and photographer Serge Lutens.
Raoul used a relatively dark colour palette for this collection with a variety of bronze brocade through paisley and byzantine border prints, the collection featured sensuous fabrics like velvet devoré and silk georgette; there was even a bit of fur in the form of a gillet over a long, gold flecked skirt.
With something for everyone catering to the flavor of young to old and from casual to red carpet designs, the label continues to be a growing success.
