Dubbed the world’s richest race, this year’s Dubai World Cup, which included the Sheema Classic presented by Longines, boasted a grand prize of US$ 5 million and was among the richest races run on turf. Held at the gorgeous Meydan racecourse, Longines was the official timekeeper of this prestigious highlight on the equestrian sporting calendar.

The World Cup race spans a distance of 2000m and is one of the most closely followed races in the world, with the final race clinched by Monterosso. All the winning jockeys, owners and trainers were bestowed with stunning models from The Longines Saint-Imier Collection, the official watch of the event.

Dedicated to sport, style and elegance, the races were also accompanied by a highly anticipated contest, the presentation of the “Most Elegant Lady” title to one of the guests in the grandstands. After deliberation by a panel of judges, Longines Ambassador of Elegance and Bollywood superstar Aishwarya Rai Bachchan awarded the winner of the “Most Elegant Lady” title, Carolyn Coe, with a model from the Longines Saint-Imier Collection.
