Contemporary fine art gallery, Barnadas Huang, hosted an exclusive preview of Spanish artist, Ulpiano Carrasco’s ‘Blazing City’ solo exhibition last week. The evening preview on January 16, was attended by 120 specially-invited guests. They had the chance to get up close and personal with Carrasco’s collection of paintings that depicted iconic Singaporean places and landmarks. The works bore the Spanish artist’s signature vivid style and were portrayed in saturated primary colours.
The Guest of Honor was His Excellency Federico Palomera Guez, Spanish Ambassador to Singapore while some of the VIP guests included Agustin Anguera, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Spain in Singapore and HE Syed Hasan Javed, High Commissioner of Pakistan to Singapore and a noted aficionado of Spanish art. The guests soaked up the convivial atmosphere while indulging in a fine selection of Spanish wine and gourmet food.
“Carrasco’s works are dynamic, powerful and highly complex. His representational works can be viewed as a form of abstraction – the unnatural colours, the structures that are almost immaterial and fleeting.” said Barnadas Huang’s director, Weiren Loh.
Exclusive to the gallery, the paintings are now available for sale. The exhibition runs till March 1.
