A dedication to the timeless principles of craft, The Balvenie Connoisseurs of Craft is an initiative led by the world’s most handcrafted single malt to promote craftsmanship in Southeast Asia through the establishment of a conducive ecosystem for creation, apprenticeship, and the advocacy of crafts on various platforms. Specially designed for craftsmen by craftsmen, the campaign will bring together talented individuals in a common space, so they can all learn, explore and draw on each other’s strengths to progress.

Comprising of carpentry, printmaking, industrial design, leather crafting, metalwork and shoemaking, the specially curated list of six craftsmen form The Balvenie Craftsmen Collective; where they will be given access to apprenticeships with master craftsmen sourced from all over the world. Like iron sharpening iron, by bringing together individuals from varied backgrounds, The Balvenie Connoisseurs of Craft aims to create an incubator for exciting collaborations and sharing of knowledge and skills.

Just as dedicated to the spirit of craftsmanship, The Balvenie distillery still adheres to the timeless tradition of malt whisky making. Nowhere else will you find a whisky that is made using all five rare crafts, which ensures The Balvenie’s complexity while maintaining its signature honeyed notes.

“Given that craftsmanship is such an integral part of our quality spirit, we hope that The Balvenie Connoisseurs of Craft will encourage the appreciation of handcrafting, and highlight the intricacies behind it. By joining hands with local artisans, we want to help preserve and nurture the art of handcrafting in the region, much like the thriving craftsmanship at The Balvenie distillery.” said SiJie Leaw, Regional Brand Manager of The Balvenie.

Fans of The Balvenie and craftsmanship are welcome to be a part of this experiential journey, with special public workshops where the craftsmen from The Balvenie Craftsmen Collective will share their knowledge and experience with hands-on guidance. There are limited seatings for each session, and members of the public can sign up at subsidised rates. Custom works and portfolios of the craftsmen will also be showcased for anyone to appreciate at these workshops. Click here for more information.
