Scottish whisky company, Talisker, has capitalised on the name of one of its Single Malt offerings – the Talisker Storm – to create a one of kind experience. Collaborating with Vivid Design Works, the whisky has created an interactive weather system that mimics the turbulent weather conditions of the Isle of Skye – situated at one of the northernmost islands of Scotland. No prizes for guessing, this is also where the whisky is made.
Set up outside the Design Museum in London’s South Bank, the 25-feet tall installation complete with pseudo lightning and dark clouds lets loose torrents of rain and wind on participants. Passers-by are roped in to brave the storm. They are given a raincoat, an umbrella and a pair of wellingtons…like as if those help. The bold who gave it a shot are given a complimentary glass of the whisky. The brave however, those who have the stones to withstand the weather machine at its fullest are bequeathed with an entire bottle of a Talisker Storm.
Then again, you do not have to be caught in a storm to enjoy a Talisker Storm Single Malt whisky.
