Staple Fall 2011

An outfit with a multitude of disciplines and one vision, Staple houses an apparel label, a creative agency that has done good work for the likes of Microsoft and LVMH, a retail store, and some pretty unshakable cred all under one roof.

Established in 1997 by its founder, Jeff Ng (known in the scene as Jeff Staple) and based in New York, Staple’s also got a foot (sneaker clad, of course) down firmly in the street culture scene both in and out of NYC, which forms the ethos of both its label and store. There’s nothing to not like when a design firm branches out into apparel – after all, these are the folks with all the brilliant ideas, no?

In its Fall ’11 collection, Staple’s wares are about to get tough and grimed up, thanks to its Auto Shop theme.

Don’t expect any unimaginative references like coveralls (we’ll leave that to the Air Force boys) or oil-slicked designs, but a fair chunk of hooded jackets, Americana-esque checked shirts and cargo pants from STPL, complemented by a sizeable offering of graphic tees and caps. It’s all quite heavy duty and entirely perfect for walking down the street with.

Staple is available at PlayLab at TANGS Orchard and VivoCity.
