Singapore opened up and said “Davai!” at the recent launch of premium spirit Russian Standard Vodka at New Asia Bar. More than 300 guests gathered for the launch party, with Miss Russia 2010 Irina Antonenko and her fellow finalists officiating.
For the purposes of the evening, the venue had been transformed into the New Russia Bar, complete with professional Russian dancers doing traditional and contemporary numbers. Sadly, there were no representatives or effigies of the Shirtless Leader but DJ Affecta – top draw at Russian raves – performed her set in a bikini top.
Always fond of the legendary Moscow Mule (to say nothing of Russian pageantry), the WardrobeTrendsFashion.com team made straight for the bar and put down roots. Russian Standard Vodka distributor Beam Global Asia had arranged for a variety of cocktails, shooters and, of course, their own interpretation of the Mule.
The shots were served at two ice bars, one offering Russian Standard Original with flash-frozen fruit while the other parlayed the more fanciful Russian Standard Premium with oysters and Tabasco.
Similarly, there were also two cocktails – not including the Mule – served at the launch. In a most appetizing purple, the first was called 4B and featured an intriguing partnership between Russian Standard Vodka and Bols Blueberry.
The second concoction was a reminder that Russia is also a part of Asia, with vodka meeting triple sec and a dash of pandan in the Honey Pandan Martini. The presence of Miss Vladivostok was also helpful in this regard.
