In a bid to re-ignite the passion for the art of writing and rekindle passion for writing, Montblanc Singapore launches its first ever Art of Writing Master Class. Starting from November 7, 2014, the art of writing master classes celebrate the beautiful union of pure writing culture. It’s only appropriate that Montblanc should be hosting these master classes as it earned the reputation as the epitome of unchanging perfection and calligraphy. Those who attend the master class will learn the art of beautiful handwriting that is a timeless and elegant art form.
Held at the Montblanc Mandarin Gallery boutique, guests at the debuting master class were treated to a 2-hour session by experienced calligrapher, Clarence Wee. The penmanship exercise inspires confidence. The more you practice a skill such as handwriting, the stronger the motor pathways become, until the skill ultimately becomes automatic.
Besides, practicing their penmanship and learning to write beautifully with their respective fountain pens, guests were also given further insight into the more technical aspects of writing with Montblanc’s exquisite writing instruments. Some of the areas explored included, what materials the nib is made of, how much it flexes, how the writer grips on the pen and how hard he or she presses down on the paper affects the handwriting style.
