Nine months after being named Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele cemented his whimsical aesthetic with the brand’s spring-summer 2016 showing presented during the first day of Milan Fashion Week. Ruffles, bows, pleats, retro prints and bold color combinations have all become synonymous with Michele’s Gucci woman. Despite what appears to be a very specific view point, the Italian designer offered a variety of styles.

Long gowns and dreamy silks took a bohemian turn while jacquard pant suits went in a more androgynous direction with completely sheer, ruffle embellished numbers adding a sense of sensuality. Completing the look, the Gucci woman accessorized with fingerless gloves in gold, geek chic oversized glasses and colorful belting.
