Hong Kong is the fashion capital in Asia and Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter is the ideal platform for fashion designers to promote their works to an international audience. Running from 16 to 19 January 2012, this Asia’s largest fashion event gives industry players all the benefits of meeting quality buyers, strengthening the brand image, and collecting latest market intelligence.
With more than 40 years of history, Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter has experienced numerous waves of evolution. The coming edition features several new zones – Denim Arcade, Handbags Select and Salon of Scarves & Shawls – to accommodate buyers’ buying pattern.
By far, the fair has secured 5 group pavilions from the Chinese mainland, India, Japan, Macau and Taiwan. Some first time participants, including emerging markets such as Nepal, UAE and Uruguay, also make use of Fashion Week to promote their local designs and build their brands. To give exhibitors more promotion opportunities, the fair features a series of mini parades to showcase selected exhibits on the catwalk.
Held concurrently is the World Boutique, Hong Kong, which is a consortium of fashion brands, including Hong Kong’s Toppy and Handsome Hero, as well as Pashma from India. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the highlighted Hong Kong Fashion Extravaganza on 16 January features fashion shows by Hidy Ng from Hong Kong, Craig Lawrence from London, Macedonian Risto Bimbiloski from Paris and Qi Gang from Shanghai.
On 17 January, a nurturing ground for fashion talent, Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest 2012, will present creative designs by the contestants and announce the winning pieces. Throughout the fair period, various international fashion forecasting agencies have been invited to elaborate on future fashion trends.
Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter and the World Boutique, Hong Kong offer business opportunities, catchy fashion shows and informative seminars for industry players to network and enjoy.
