Hats Off is a fascinator and pillbox hat studio started by Singapore-based Australian Kathryn Campbell two years ago. A self-taught milliner, Campbell makes some of the prettiest and most elegant headpieces you’ll see at derby events – demure in size, and embellished with artificial flowers and feathers in vibrant colors like coral and citrus yellow.
A thoughtful designer, she uses lightweight, breathable materials like parasisal (a finely woven straw) and silk abacus (a thin fabric made from silk and pineapple fibres), and guarantees that her hats will look good from every angle – it’s her top priority. Every piece is handmade, and takes between six and seven hours to complete.
