Capella Singapore Throws Mooncake Bash

An important holiday in the Chinese calendar, the Mid-Autumn Festival was marked in style at Capella Singapore, when it held a private “Shanghai Chic” party, complete with mooncakes – and diamonds.

Held at Cassia, the resort’s modern Chinese restaurant, the day-long festivities kicked off with a special ladies luncheon, where guests enjoyed delicately plated tea-infused cuisine created by Cassia’s Executive Chef Lee Hiu Ngai. The tea-infused cuisine was a perfectly light counterpoint to Capella’s homemade mooncakes.

During the dinner event, around 70 guests gathered at Cassia’s intimate and beautiful dining room, and were treated to more slices of mooncakes, cocktails and bubbly.

There were also models showcasing elegant Boucheron jewellery, such as the Ava Deco White Gold Diamond necklace worth S$40,000, its unique circle design motif bearing a close resemblance to the fullness of the moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

One of the 388 bearers of Capella’s exclusive mooncake offering will find themselves the winner of that very same necklace, though there’s no word out yet on who the lucky recipient is. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!
