Blancpain opened it’s third boutique in Xintiandi, Shanghai, also the largest in the world.

Blancpain, one of the worlds oldest watch brands, already has eight boutiques in China and chose to further its historical presence with the opening of its latest Xintiandi boutique, also its China flagship store.

The 600 square-meter boutique is a two-floored playground for horology lovers, with the brands finest creations on display and extra services available. A circular staircase guides guests to the second floor, which contains a new lounge bar area, where visitors can sample Swiss-made products on the terrace overlooking Xintiandi. The service center, located inside the boutique, allows customers to have their watches serviced and can watch as watchmakers work with masterpieces.

In celebration of the opening, and to pay tribute to Blancpain’s adoration for the Chinese culture, the Calendrier Chinois Traditionnel has been made over, after Blancpain developed the first wristwatch with a traditional Chinese calendar in 2012. A platinum framed watch features a red champleve enamel dial and jewel set crown, and a Wu Xing pictogram, which represents the five elements in Chinese culture.

The opening was attended by Blancpain President and CEO, Marc A. Hayek.
