Camilla Franks presented her Spring/Summer ’12-’13 to a full house at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA). Fashion fans were turned away in droves from The Tent, keen to see the kaftan queen’s latest take on her brand of gypset glamour.
Camilla’s signature kaftans came down the runway in a riot of rainbow prints in ikat, paisley, graphic scarf-prints, oversized tropical florals and bright snakeskin patterns. Ethnic-inspired detailed put a Bollywood feel on the show, via the Indian patworking, multi-hued pom-pom edging and detailed embroidered bib necklines.
Sexy one piece swimsuits, loose-cut short and trouser suits furthered the vacay-vibe, whilst giving loyal Camilla customers something other than her luxe kaftans to lust after.
Colours: What colour didn’t Camilla utilise? It was super bright.
Trends: Print clashing, tropical and paisley prints, ethnic inspired detailing, patterned suiting.
Key Looks: Her hard to miss kaftans, of course, as well as lounge wear made interesting in arresting visual prints.
Accessories: Wrist laden with Indian bangles, floral lays, head dresses, cross-body bags and wooden soled platform sandals.
