We have seen some extraordinary ‘most expensive’ titles in our time but this one is certainly vying for a podium position. The Iron Dog 05 HuraxDax is the most expensive stove in the world.
Priced at a monumental $4 million (in gold), it’s two and a half feet high and can heat 1,000 square feet of living space. Not that heating efficiency will be the main reason why you would buy it.
Weighing in at 240kg in gold or 170kg in sterling silver, it was designed by sculptor Joseph Michael Neustifter and each one takes two months to produce.
If you’re looking for something slightly less opulent however the cast-iron version (above) looks rather lovely.
