For the third year in a row Dolce & Gabbana lends its support to UNICEF for the project Frimousses de Createurs that strives to raise funds to help the children of Darfur. Here’s the kicker… Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have created a one-of-a-kind doll that will be auctioned on November 24 during an exclusive event that will take place at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the project Frimousses de Createurs in aid of the children of Darfur. Prior to the auction, the doll will be showcased at the Theatre du Chatelet from November 18 to 23.
The doll is called Violetta and is inspired by the main character in Verdi’s La Traviata. She wears a large black lace dress with a red satin belt, adorned by a crystal broche. She also wears a gold cross with black stones, a classic traditional Dolce & Gabbana accessory. Violetta is made from resin and her face is painted by hand.
