Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen, has had a long-standing infatuation for the world of film. It makes sense then that it was the new sponsor of the third Beijing International film Festival. During the 2013 BJIFF, IWC hosted the exclusive ‘For the Love of Cinema’ gala event for 200 VIP guests and celebrities from all over the world.
Held on the historic Ming Dynasty city wall in Beijing the gala dinner played host to a wide range of famous personalities, both local and foreign. The highlight of the dinner was the presentation of the IWC Filmmaker Award which IWC also presents at major festivals in Cannes, Tribeca and Dubai. IWC presented the prestigious award to Chinese film director, Zhang Yimou.
IWC has a well-worn relationship with Hollywood stars as Kevin Spacey, Cate Blanchett, Jean Reno and Marc Forster, as well as Chinese actors including Francis Ng, Julian Cheung and Anita Yuen. Moreover, IWC has already realised numerous unique film, theatre and photography projects with many of these celebrities. Watches from IWC have also been preferred accoutrements in major box office hits and TV series.
