Tell us more about The Takumi Philosophy.

We derived the word ‘Takumi’ from the ancient Japanese word ‘匠’ which means artisan or craftsmanship.  Staying true to our Japanese heritage and with more than 30 years in PC making, Fujitsu firmly believes in the spirit of Takumi – the Japanese tradition of craftsmanship and professionalism to produce only the finest and quality products that blends form, beauty and function in a constantly innovative way.  Ingrained with the Japanese Takumi philosophy, our Fujitsu LIFEBOOK designs for 2012 will encompass a distinct and uniform identity, while balancing style and performance for the everyday lifestyle, be it work and play.

Tell us something special about the Fujitsu LH772 and LH532 that not many people will notice?

The Fujitsu LIFEBOOK LH772 has quite a few design elements which tend to go unnoticed because it’s very subtle. For example there are 2 pieces of suede that’s located on the base of the machine. They are strategically placed at the hottest spot of the whole machine to absorb heat so that our customers can enjoy a great experience of using it on their lap without the heat getting too uncomfortable for them. The ‘Made in Japan’ Fujitsu LIFEBOOK LH772 also integrate the patented Fujitsu ventilation technology which keeps the laptop cool and allows for easy maintenance. The built in dust filter latch makes it easy and fuss free for users to clean and maintain the laptop, keeping it in optimum condition.

What is it about ONKYO Box Speakers that brings out their excellent audio quality?!

ONKYO is a Japanese consumer electronics giant specializing in home cinema & audio equipment. They are experts in the field of audio entertainment and we are excited about this collaboration as we are able to integrate their expertise and create a fantastic multimedia entertainment device for our customers. A little trivia here – Do you know that the Japanese word ONKYO translate to “Sound harmony”? That should give you a pretty good idea how good they are in their field.

Will we see more colors of the FUJITSU LIFEBOOK series? For example, will you consider having neon colors?

The Fujitsu LIFEBOOK LH772 is currently available in 3 gorgeous colors. I have no information of additional colors but we never know…

This is a question for the fashionistas out there, has Fujitsu considered steering their designs in the near future to be “out of the box”, designs that are more eye-catching. Perhaps at the top of my mind, a laptop shaped like a wing of an angel?

Traditionally, Fujitsu has always place functionality over aesthetic. We built our reputation on high quality products that’s the epitome of high technology. To us, that is our definition of design. This year, we recognize that customers’ tastes have evolved and they want a device that not only performs at the highest level but also aesthetically pleasing. The device has to also become a status statement of the individual using it. Hence, we took the first step towards this with the 匠Takumi design philosophy. We integrated certain design language and elements which are unique yet maintaining simplicity. We want to create an identity that’s unique to Fujitsu and then evolve further. Not too long ago, we held a design competition and out of which, some very interesting concept surfaced. It might or might not see the light, that’ll depend on the engineers but it sure is very exciting for us.
