Tod’s & Teatro alla Scala recently hosted the Chinese premiere of “An Italian Dream”, a film which explores the qualities of Tod’ hand-made products.
Directed by Matthias Zentner, the film centres round 13 ballet dancers from the Teatro alla Scala (the world renown opera house in Milan) and celebrates the care and craftsmanship of Tod’s goods. The dancers essentially interpret and celebrate the stages with which the products are made.
Held on October 22 at Tank 751 (located in the heart of Beijing’s arts district), the evening attracted a host of stellar names including Oscar winner Marisa Tomei, Hong Kong actress Carina Lau, Brazilian model and singer Alice Dellal and Chinese actress Zhou Xun.
The evening commenced with dinner for 200 special guests, and aside from the film premiere, featured a unique show by the Teatro alla Scala’s Principle Ballerina Ms. Sabrina Brazzo and Lead Ballet dancer Mr. Marco Messina. They performed a pas a deux created especially for China by choreographer Gianluca Schiavoni.

The event was followed by an after-party with music provided by DJ Max Chipchase, Alice Dellal, Emma Chitty and Isabelle Ramsey.
Tod’s will contribute towards the costs of productions at Teatro alla Scala for one artistic season.
