The Sultan of Brunei’s son, Prince Abdul Malik, 31, wed his bride Dayangku Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pengiran Haji Bolkiah, 22, last Sunday, 12 April 2015. And the celebrations were as lavish as befits one of the richest men in the world and the second in line to the Bruneian throne.

The gold-studded ceremony featured gilded thrones, matching gold outfits encrusted with diamonds and jewels, and so on. The bride’s accessories included a diamond tiara studded with six teardrop-shaped emeralds, a posy that comprised gems, a veil made of gold embroidered lace, as well as Swarovski crystal-encrusted Louboutins which would’ve made any fashionista swoon with envy.

The wedding, which was held at the Sultan’s 1,788-room Istana Nural Iman palace in the capital of Brunei, Bandar Seri Begawan, saw friends, family, members of the royal family, and foreign dignitaries attending.

The festivities began a week earlier on 5 April 2015, which culminated in the bersanding or enthronement ceremony.
