Sony has announced the Alpha NEX-5R, successor to the NEX-5N. The 5R brings with it new Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as a hybrid AF system combining the AF methods used in DSLR and mirrorless cameras.

PlayMemories from Sony keeps growing with a series of exciting new possibilities to enhance your digital imaging experience with the launch of PlayMemories Camera Apps, the world’s first application download service that lets you install new functions to boost the capabilities of your camera.

In any case, you can expect serious picture performance, style and portability are blended beautifully in the new NEX-5R compact system camera from Sony.

The NEX-5R will be available in Asia Pacific from November 2012 with prices to be announced.
