What’s better than a whisky bar? A supersized whisky bar of course. Recently opened at Resorts World Sentosa, Quaich Bar @ Resorts World Sentosa is billed as the largest whisky bar in Asia. A visit in person absolutely does not disappoint as we discovered when meeting Quaich Bar CEO Chua Koon Hui recently. Somewhat famously, we do love our whisky at Luxury-Insider so it will surprise no one that we like the two-storey 8,000 sqf Quaich Bar. Space is one thing but of course selection is even more important and Quaich bar does not disappoint.

Officially, there are more than 1,000 whisky labels from all over the world, including Wales, Japan, America, India and even South Africa. Given the name of the bar (the Scottish name for a traditional drinking cup for scotch whisky), it is fitting that more than 95 percent of the selection is from Scotland. No, this is not really a ‘whiskies of the world’ sort of place.

Quaich Bar @ Resorts World Sentosa is really a temple to whisky; a place to promote whisky culture. Much of the wood lining the walls, for example, comes from whisky casks. Of course there are plenty of rare and unusual offerings here, including the new Bowmore 1964 Fino, the oldest Bowmore released thus far.

Upstairs, Quaich Bar displays its selection of rare and extraordinary scotch, including Bowmore production bottles 1, 2 and 3. According to Chua, the distillery itself was surprised to learn that Quaich Bar had bottle number 1 since that bottle usually resides in the distillery (a tradition amongst Scottish distilleries). If this appeals to you, be sure to check out their exclusive selection from The Macallan and some two exclusive distiller bottlings from Glenglassaugh.

Immersive educational experiences are also available at Quaich Bar @ Resorts World Sentosa, which is one reason for all the space. For example, you could do a whisky tour through the regions of Scotland within the environs of the bar. The range is both wide and varied enough to offer both broad and narrow scotch experiences in-house. We particularly like the blending sessions, where connoisseurs get to blend their own whisky.
