Now entering their eight decade of production, the mighty Portuguese collection from IWC Schaffhausen gets the royal treatment in 2010, featuring a Grande Complication watch, tourbillon Mystere Retrograde and, our subject for today, the Yacht Club Chronograph.
Celebrating the spirit of navigation and honoring seafarers past and present, the Portuguese gets a contemporary makeover with the Yacht Club Chronograph. Featuring IWC’s star movement of late, calibre 89360, this timekeeper is a flyback chronograph with analogue display of longer times on an inner subdial (the display at 12 o’clock), double pawl winding system, integral shock absorption system, date display, small seconds hand with stop function.
This 45mm diameter watch is water resistant to 60 meters and is the only Portuguese to feature superluminova on its hands and indices. It is available in steel with a black or silver-plated dial and in red gold with a slate-colored dial and black registers.
