To celebrate India’s first Formula One Grand Prix, Hublot has released a commemorative timepiece, the F1™ King Power India.

The inaugural Indian Grand Prix will take place in October in New Delhi, making India the 6th Asian venue participating in the 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship.

Limited to a production run of 200 individually numbered pieces, the watch sports the F1 logo as well as the colours of the Indian flag on its dial and bracelet. Many of its features are also made from high-tech materials seen in Formula 1, some of which have never been used before in watchmaking.

For instance, the ceramic bezel is adorned with multiple holes which are inspired by a high performance brake disc, while the strap is made from rubber and Nomex, a synthetic fibre used in the suits worn by F1 drivers.

This is the first time a luxury Swiss watch manufacturer has launched a watch dedicated to an international sport coming to India.
