The grand dame of American fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg showed her Fall/Winter 2009 collection in Hong Kong recently. Called Nomad, the collection is an eclectic fusion of world fashion, proving that Von Furstenberg does not need to be a judge on Project Runway to infuse her designs with a contemporary joie de vivre.

These are clothes for the “constant traveler,” as the brand frames it, and range from figure-hugging cashmere pants to abstract animal print festooned corduroys. For this season, the silhouette is elongated, the shape adaptable and the details inspirational.

Held at the Grand Ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel, Hong Kong, the show drew best and brightest, including Irene Wen Audry Ai, Audrey Chiu, Leigh Tung, Tansy Tom, Anne Wang, Daphne King, Shirley Hiranand, Patty Gaw, Peggy Yeoh and Kay Li. Celebrities spotted included Qi Qi Yam, Elanne Kwong, Anna Yau and Ann Bridgewater. Celebrity models included Rosemary, Lisa S and Sofia Walli.
