Charli XCX and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Star In Yasutaka Nakata’s ‘Crazy Crazy’ Video

Japanese superproducer Yasutaka Nakata today unveils his new single ‘Crazy Crazy’ featuring j-pop icon Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and multi-million selling British pop star Charli XCX. The track is accompanied by visuals directed by Kazuaki Seki, now available to watch on YouTube and stream on all partners.

Kazuaki Seki, the genius director behind OK Go’s iconic video for ‘I Won’t Let You Down’ supplies hypercolour visuals for ‘Crazy Crazy’ that see Kyary, Charli and Nakata face-swapped into the fray for a lip-sync party. The track is a typically high energy, sugar-sweet pop single and is Nakata’s latest solo effort. Yasutaka Nakata is best known for his production on global hits by j-pop queen Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, j-pop supergroup Perfume and co-founding the Japanese electro unit Capsule. Nakata’s productions have gone on to win awards and sell millions worldwide.

Following her latest single ‘After The Afterparty’ and previous collaborations with PC Music associated artists, Charli XCX’s fascination with the genre lead to her first foray into j-pop. Worldwide, Charli has sold 33 million singles and 1 million albums. “I’m definitely a fan of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s music, her style, her art. I think she’s a really incredible artist” said Charli of her co-star. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s history as a genre-defining artist, model and vocalist puts her at the centre of the Japanese fashion and music industries, recently celebrating the fifth anniversary of her debut release with a sell-out world tour and greatest hits compilation ‘5 Years Monster’.
