Only Watch, the major international charity project sponsored by the Association Monegasque contre les Myopathies, receives support from some of the most esteemed watchmaking brands in the world. Breguet has been an ally of the biannual event since its inception in 2005. This year, it is no different. Breguet will be donating a specially designed model Classique Chronograph openworked 5284 to the Only Watch 2013 auction.

Designed in the grand tradition of exclusive Breguet timepieces, the watch features an exceptional calibre 533.2 SQ hand-wound movement. Originally known as 2310, the movement was first designed in the 1940s by Albert Piguet. For this special edition, Breguet reinvents the movement by giving it a unique design. As for the case, it is typical of Breguet Classique watches, in 18k yellow gold, with fine fluting on the caseband.

Moreover the open-tipped hands, which were designed around 1783, by Abraham-Louis Breguet, are entirely engraved by hand. Painstakingly finished and elaborately decorated by hand, the Classique Chronograph openworked 5284 embodies a full measure of respect for impeccable watchmaking with centuries-old values.
