Since its inception in 2000, the Bollywood film awards – otherwise known as the International Indian Film Academy awards – have taken place in a different city around the world. This year, the action takes place amidst the bright lights of Macau, China, as the stars of Hindi cinema held court at the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel.

The big winner of the night was historical drama Jodhaa Akbar, with six prizes including best picture, best actor (Hrithik Roshan) and best director (Ashutosh Gowariker).

Aishwarya Rai Bachan, the female lead in Jodhaa Akbar, did not win for her performance but she did pick up the awards for best actress of the decade and outstanding achievement in international cinema.
