Blancpain celebrated its 275 years with a VIP event at its Central boutique in Hong Kong, inviting Alain Delamuraz, Vice President & Head of Marketing and renowned watch critic Jeffrey Kingston to share their insights.

Attending guests were given a glimpse of Blancpain’s novelty timepieces including its Tribute to Fifty Fathoms, Fifty Fathoms Complete Calendar, L-evolution Tourbillon and the Carrousel Minute Repeater.

In particular Delamuraz and Kingston illustrated how Blancpain has gone from the world’s smallest moon phase movement with 40 hours power reserve to today’s fully secure moon phase movement with 8 days power reserve and correctors under the lugs.

Kingston said: “It is often the case that a historical retrospective stops there – focusing on the past achievements. That is a mistake. One always needs to link the past to today’s watches. That’s what Blancpain has done with its anniversary event. It is a celebration of past achievements but also a demonstration that innovations continue today.”

A special Tradition of Innovation exhibition has also been held in Beijing, likewise chronicling the achievements of the Manufacture.
